TWiST #05 with David Sacks

David Sacks

Stopping by the studio this week was David Sacks, CEO of Yammer and Geni.com. He’s also one of the minds behind Paypal and was a producer on the awesome movie, “Thank You for Smoking”. Check out the full episode (in audio or video) after the jump.

Remember, there’s no show next week as Jason will be in New York to keynote Alley Insider’s “Startups 2009″ Conference. We’ll be back on June 12 with a brand new episode.

  1. Hey, I really really love TWiST – I do have one major problem though, when I listen to TWiST there’s always a hum in the background, sound like a fan or something… is there a way you could remove this?

  2. Justyn says:

Great episode. Thanks for the weekly insights. I don’t watch TV anymore (Hulu when I need to), but I would tune in nightly for this kind of insight. Good luck also with the M2 launch!

  3. Tracy Evans says:

Another good episode, dense with important information. I particularly liked the comparison between internet startup and movie production. TWIST is essential listening for entrepreneurs.

  4. Neil says:

Just pure gold! What a great conversation to listen to.

PS: As with Dennis, I also hear a very low bass hum (although not in the second half of this episode). If I tweak my EQs it’s reduced but still there.

    Keep up the good work!

Nice show…I wish I could skip to the middle or any other part of the video.

  6. Loved the show! David Sacks knows what he talks about. Good interview. I digg that he produces movies too.

I rate the show as a 10 (of 10). It seems based on
my rules for life. Deal with honor, act with courage,
    persue excellence.

You are the Charlie Rose of business. Fox business
should buy the show – and pay you big bucks.

  8. Jason says:

Thanks so much for the positive feedback everyone!

  9. Ryan Graves says:

    Jason,
I love the “Ask Jason” conversations and am wondering how to get on the phone? Keep up the good work and if you do the 20th episode thing I’ll definitely be tuning back in.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

Love the show! I’ve been watching the podcast version every week.(I plan on watching the live show this week) Very informative and very funny. I had no idea Geni.com existed and now I’m getting my whole family, and extended family, on it.

Thanks for coming up with such a great show Jason. I’ve been talking about it to all of my friends.

    10 out of 10.

  11. Jason says:

    Jason,

    Bring in LEO!
He would be great for this show.

  12. Peter says:

Would be nice to have a direct mp3 download. I’d like to listen to the show in my car.

  13. Peter says:

P.S. don’t listen to Joel, the intro song is cool :)

  14. Brian L says:

I agree Peter, Jason knows his music!

  15. Robert says:

Awesome show! Keep up the good work

  16. Did you mean “The Coordinator”? The theory behind “The Coordinator” is described in “Understanding Computers and Cognition: A New Foundation for Design” by Terry Winograd and Fernando Flores. Never heard about anybody actually using it, would be interesting to hear more about it.

  17. [...] far guests have included Seth Sternberg, the co-founder of Meebo, and David Sacks, one of the guys behind [...]

  18. Brian says:

Hey, Love the show. Is there anyway to watch the show other than the website? I am downloading the show on iTunes currently.
