On this episode of This Week In Startups, Jason is joined by Jim Lanzone, former CEO of Ask.com and now current CEO of Clicker. Clicker brings together a wide array of programming from traditional television to web originals. The site could quite possibly be the next gen version of TV guide with features such as listings, recommendations, show infos, and live streaming clips of the shows of your choice. Jason digs deep and chats with Jim about their debut at TechCrunch 50 to what the future holds for, what could be, a site that will integrate with people, families worldwide and become a household name.

A Thanksgiving TWiST with Jim Lanzone

So another “twist” in this week’s episode – thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday, we’ll be broadcasting Tuesday @ 1:30pm instead of the normal Friday time.  Jason’s guest for this special episode will be Jim Lanzone, CEO of Techcrunch50 finalist, Clicker (which just opened up to everyone, so go try it out).  Clicker is an internet video guide – just tell it what show you’re interested in and it will show you everywhere on the web that you can find episodes, clips or any other content from it.  Before starting Clicker, Jim was the CEO over at Ask.com and has also been an adviser to a number of startups including Ustream, Gigya and CNET Networks.  Jim got his start when he founded eTour back in 1997, a site later acquired by Ask.com.

As you can see, Jim has quite the wealth of experience to share, so don’t miss this episode!

This Week’s TWiST

Kamran Pourzanjani

Jason’s guest this week will be Kamran Pourzanjani, co-founder and CEO of Pricegrabber – also, week’s episode will be happening at a special time, Thursday @ 3pm (PST).  Kamran founded PriceGrabber back in 1999 and built it into one of the biggest comparison shopping sites on the web before selling it to Experian in 2005 for almost $500 million.  Since selling PriceGrabber, Kamran has been a fixture in the LA tech scene as both an angel investor and advisor to startups.  His newest project is Bestcovery, an expert rating and reviews site.

We’ll also have a special scheduled episode next week (Tuesday @ 2pm) thanks to the Thanksgiving holiday.  Jason’s guest then will be Jim Lanzone, CEO of Clicker.
